August marks the end of summer and the beginning of a new school year for many families. In particular, St. Louis families were invited to attend a FREE Back to School Jam hosted by RealTalkWithDemingo at the Monsanto Family YMCA.

The Monsanto Family YMCA and community organizer Demingo Loggins, Executive Director of RealTalkWithDemingo, started the event in 2015. This year, the program featured more than 25 community vendors, including representatives from Better Family Life and the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis. It also highlighted free community health services and job training opportunities.

Several organizations, including the Office of Financial Empowerment, sponsored by donating supplies, backpacks, books and more to make this event a success.

Every month, the Office of Financial Empowerment hosts free financial empowerment classes that are open to the community. Classes range from money management to understan
