The City of St. Louis Treasurer’s Office is one step closer to modernizing parking operations after selecting the companies for the second phase of an RFP for parking meter management and processing.
The companies selected to participate in the RFP are: Xerox, Duncan Solutions, Aparc Systems, and a joint proposal submitted by T2 Systems, Inc., Republic Parking System and Digital Payment Technologies.
The RFP was issued in October as part of an ongoing effort to modernize operations. The goal of the RFP is to provide St. Louis with a cost-effective on-street parking system that allows people to use cash, credit cards and mobile phones to pay for parking.
The selected vendors will perform a six month on-street parking field test evaluation of their equipment before a final selection is made.
The field test is scheduled to begin next month and will include installing parking equipment on both sides of one or more contiguous city blocks. The field test sites will be in Downtown and the Central West End.
“We are excited to take this next step as we work to create a first class parking operation for the City of St. Louis,” said Treasurer Tishaura O. Jones. “The field tests give citizens a chance to try out the latest in parking technology so they can see what options are available for city parking.”
