February 14-17, 2014 Meeting w/Clinton Global initiative Newark, NJ & Albany, NY The Treasurer was invited to work with the Clinton Global Initiative on nationwide programs to increase the number of children with college savings accounts. The Treasurer used some of the information from this meeting to help establish a city-wide college savings account program for all public school kindergartners.  $448
April 28-30, 2014 CFED CSA Conference Washington, D.C. CFED provides technical and financial assistance for college savings accounts. CFED works directly with St. Louis to help administer the St. Louis college savings program.  $1,239.22
May 31-June 3, 2014 IPI Conference Dallas, TX The IPI Conference & Expo brings together more than 3,000 parking professionals from to provide the parking continuing education and seminars. Attending this conference provided the Treasurer’s Office with important information used to help modernize and improve the City Parking Division.  $1,137.29
June 24-25, 2014 Clinton Global Initiative Denver, CO The Treasurer was invited to the Clinton Global Initiative to work on nationwide programs to increase the number of children with college savings accounts. The conference is aims to bring people together to develop solutions for economic growth, long-term competitiveness, and social mobility in the United States.  $743.35
July 21-23, 2014 Recruit NAACP Convention to STL Las Vegas, NV The Treasurer was invited by the St. Louis County NAACP Chapter and the CVC as part of a proposal to bring the NAACP National Convention to St. Louis. The NAACP National Conference had the potential of bringing over 5,000 conference attendees and millions of dollars in economic impact to St. Louis.  $1,140.46
August 4-5, 2014 Operation Hope site visit Atlanta, GA Operation HOPE is an international financial empowerment provider. Operation HOPE provides complimentary financial literacy education and empowerment programs designed to foster financial well-being. There is an Operation HOPE program (HOPE Inside) located in our Office of Financial Empowerment. Prior to opening the St. Louis HOPE Inside Center, the Treasurer visited the Atlanta HOPE Center to learn operational best practices. The operational cost of the HOPE Inside Center is underwritten through charitable donations.  $825.64
