A Day of Family Fun and Learning about How Money Works

Join the City of St. Louis Treasurer’s Office, Harris-Stowe State University, The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, and The United Way of Greater St. Louis at the First Annual Financial Empowerment Fair on Saturday, April 26.

The fair takes place from 11am to 3pm at Harris Stowe, and it is a day of family fun and financial empowerment. Children’s activities include the Kid$ Zone hosted by the Magic House and BMO Harris, and a Scavenger Hunt hosted and facilitated by the Money Smart School of Finance for Children.

Several banks and credit unions, as well as state and federal agencies, will be on hand to provide important information about second chance bank accounts, credit counseling, the unclaimed property database, identity theft, and new opportunities available through the MOST 529 College Savings Program.

“We are pleased to welcome to St. Louis John Hope Bryant, the CEO and Founder of Operation HOPE,” said Tishaura O. Jones, Treasurer of the City of St. Louis. “He is our special guest, and we look forward to an inspiring keynote address from him.” That keynote address is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
